Details of the B787-9 Aircraft

Virgin Atlantic’s first 787-9 Dreamliner was introduced in October 2014. It marked the celebration of the 30th anniversary since Virgin Atlantic’s first transatlantic flight. Known as the ‘Dreamliner’, the 787 takes comfort to a new level.

The 787 Dreamliner has 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium Economy and 198 Economy seats. With biggest windows that any other commercial aircraft, every seat can experience a better view. There’s also more headspace thanks to higher ceilings, cleaner air giving passengers more oxygen and moisture and the Dreamliner is friendlier to the environment as it’s 21% more fuel efficient. As for Virgin Atlantic’s cabins there is an Upper Class bar to enjoy a glass of bubbly, a wander wall area in Premium Economy to grab snacks and the comfiest seats in Economy.

Customers who take advantage of this second daily flight to Johannesburg with Virgin Atlantic will experience the revamped economy options. With a choice of three fares; economy light (hand baggage only), economy classic and economy delight (36 seats with 34-inches of legroom).
