Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. is the national flag carrier for the Japan with its headquarters in Tokyo and main hubs at Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) International Airports and Osaka International Airport (ITM). Founded in 1951, It joined the OneWorld global alliance in 2007.
They currently serve 33 international destinations in Asia, the Americas, Europe and Oceania, and 59 domestic destinations in Japan. This makes them the sixth largest airline in the world by passengers carried.
Japan Airlines is also currently an official sponsor of Japan Football Association, Japan national football team, Shimizu S-Pulse, and Consadole Sapporo.
• In 1963, Japan Airlines was the only airline in Asia to order 3 Concordes, but after the stock market crash in 1973 - they cancelled the order and Air France and British Airways became the only two airlines to ever operate the Concorde.
• In 2018, Japan Airlines was upgraded to a 5 star rating with Skytrax.
