Introduction

Emirates is a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, which is owned by the government of Dubai. They were founded in 1985 and have yet to join a global airline alliance. Their only hub is at Dubai International Airport (DXB), where they operate over 2,400 passenger flights to 140 cities in 81 countries across the world.

The airline is the world’s fourth largest airline in terms of revenue and international passengers carried, and second largest in terms of freight tonne kilometres flown.

Frequent Flyer Program

Emirates Skywards is the frequent flyer program of Emirates. It is a miles-based program that partners with Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), which has recently merged with Marriott Rewards and as of August 2018 will become one unified program.
