Qatar Airways Company is the state owned flag carrier for Qatar, with a main hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH). They were founded in 1993 and have been a OneWorld global alliance member since 2013.
Qatar Airways was the first gulf carrier to join a major airline alliance. They were also the first airline to order the new Airbus A350, Dreamliner, and Super Jumbo A380 all at once, making their fleet one of the youngest and best maintained in the world.
• On October 12, 2009, the company completed the world’s first commercial passenger flight powered by a fuel made from natural gas. It was mostly an experiment to prove viability as Qatar is the world's leading exporter of natural gas.
• Qatar Airlines has earned 5-star rating by Skytrax. They have also been voted Airline of the Year by Skytrax in 2011, 2012, 2015 and most recently in 2017.
Qatar Airways Privilege Club is the frequent flyer program of Qatar. It awards ‘Qmiles’ based on distance travelled, and uses a convenient miles calculator instead of award chart to make using your Qmiles easy.
Qmiles also expire after three years, which is much better than the standard one year expiry for most lower tiers on other programs.

Qantas offers codesharing with 23 airlines both inside and outside the OneWorld Alliance. Look for the designator code (QR).
