Business Travel to New York

Customer protection guarantee

In 2022 business travel to New York ranked as our fourth most booked international route. Our wealth of experience on this destination continues to grow year on year. Not only do we regularly send clients to New York but our very own business travel experts are all keen visitors to the big apple themselves. If you want to get there effortlessly AND in style, look no further than the expertise of our team. In this post we round up the best airline services to the city, the most booked hotels and our recommendations for your spare time on your business travel to New York.

How to Get There

From the United Kingdom you can fly direct to New York from London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh. Whilst it is possible to fly direct from London Gatwick, the service is generally operated by a partner carrier. At Your Travel Corporate we most commonly booked business travel to New York from London Heathrow to either Newark Liberty airport or John F. Kennedy airport. The most booked airlines were British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Both airlines operate between three and five flights a day from Heathrow (information correct at time of writing April 2023).

Arguably, Virgin Atlantic offer a better service and more enjoyable experience, particularly in upper class. Although there are still clients who favour British Airways, despite their business class cabin generally ranking as less impressive. Virgin Atlantic A350’s operating the route between Heathrow and New York JFK benefit from a social area for upper class passengers as well as comfortable individual seating with privacy. You can explore Virgin’s options more in this 2019 blog post Virgin Atlantic Airbus A350s. You can learn more about British Airways seat options via our Airline Hub here.

What to do with your spare time in New York City

New York is a busy city. After a long day of work-related activities, you may want to utilise your spare time at a lesser visited hidden gem. A stroll around High Line Park or The New York Botanical Garden might be just what you need. Alternatively you could visit The Cloisters museum to gaze at the medieval art in the architectural setting of French monasteries.

Of course, a trip to New York might not be complete if you don’t take in the popular sights too. Make sure the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Empire State Building and Times Square are on your list. If you can squeeze them on, then the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum are also worth a mention.

If you are entertaining clients, colleagues, peers or suppliers in the city  you might be considering a business dinner. Why not also take a look at our recent list of top hotel restaurants in New York.
