The World’s Best Airport Lounges (Part 1)
Only very recently opened (2016) the Etihad Airways First Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi is as lavish and full of grandeur as an airport lounge can get. Etihad explained this with the phrase ‘a reimagined lounge experience’. The world’s most elite travellers were the main focus for the design of the lounge. Boasting a tasting menu designed by the chefs from the gilded Emirates Palace Hotel and featuring dishes curated by a former Shangri La and Ritz Carlton Head Chef it’s clear that Etihad are taking the dining element of their lounge very seriously. Feedback from their most frequent flyers has brought about the inclusion of a fitness room and a Six Senses Spa.
However, the ‘show-stopper’ element of their lounge is without doubt The Residence. With its own permanent butler, this facility features a vast lounge area, prayer room, library, marble bathroom and shower room and a beautiful dining area offering a completely bespoke menu.
In a word…Stunning.
Still in its infancy, the Emirates First Class Lounge in Dubai (Terminal 3) offers several amenities to its guests including; a cigar bar, fine dining with fresh ingredients and shower spas. But the area of this lounge that sets it apart from the competition has to be the wine cellar, Le Clos. The expert sommeliers guide guests through the best vintages to indulge upon before their flight. After, relaxing and unwinding in this fantastic lounge, make use of the lounge’s direct boarding allowing guests to step straight onboard the flight.
The British Airways Concorde Room located at Terminal 5 is one of the most established airport lounges. Exclusively available to only First Class passengers or frequent fliers with 5,000 plus tier points per year. Inspired by 5-star boutique hotels, the lounge offers a calm and inviting space for first class travellers. Only the finest Italian furnishings and beautiful chandeliers decorate the lounge. Private, personal dining experience awaits with full waiter service. The best part of the BA Concorde lounge though is the private cabanas offering a mini hotel room space, with en-suite facilities. Finally, everyone travelling in First Class is entitled to a complimentary 15min Elemis Spa treatment.
As a business travel agency we have access to the very best rates for international airport lounges, as well as First Class flights and Business Class flights worldwide. We are never be more expensive than booking direct with the airline.
