Singapore Airlines A380 business class seats are considered to be one of the best experiences currently available. It is worth noting that Singapore Airlines operate a few versions of the Airbus A380. There are some variances between newer and older layouts of the A380, but we are going to provide an overview of what you can come to expect as standard on a Singapore Airlines A380 Business Class seat.
Singapore Airline A380 Business Class Seat
Business class seats are on the upper deck of the A380’s. Regardless of which version you are flying, seats are always forward-facing and in a 1-2-1 configuration. This guarantees all business class passengers benefit from direct aisle access. Seats, seats and more seats are all you will see, as Singapore Airlines A380’s do not feature any onboard bars and lounge areas.
Singapore Airlines business class seats are well known for pitch size. We have even heard other reviewers claim they are too big! Then again, they are notorious for small footwells. Some may find this only a minor issue, but many who choose to lie flat need to sleep at an angle to accommodate their feet comfortably. Seats are generally comfortable in an upright position. Furthermore, you can choose from other recline presets such as a ‘Lazy Z’ or ‘Sundeck’ position.
Entertainment
Singapore Airlines business class seats are fitted with LCD monitors that are slightly on the small side in comparison to other business class products. However, the IFE systems make up for this with 1,000’s of movies, TV and music options to select from. You can navigate through the ‘Krisworld’ system via a wired controller, usually found in the armrest.
Bringing your own entertainment? There is ample space for a laptop in business class seating. Additionally, seats come with USB ports and a universal power outlet, so you will never be out of charge. Wifi is available and is of a reasonable speed. A certain allowance of data is provided with your ticket, however, use this up and you will be charged for further data.
Amenities
Singapore Airlines provide business class passengers with slippers, socks, noise cancelling headphones and eyemasks. Anything further, such as personal toiletries, are available for first class travellers only. Instead, business class travellers can find toiletries in any of the several lavatories. This includes toothpaste, shaving cream and other lotions. If you wish to sleep then duvets, pillows and a seat topper are available from the crew.
Dining
Collaborating with world-reclaimed chefs gives Singapore Airlines it’s incredible culinary reputation. Collaborations have included Matthew Moran, Sam Leong, Suzanne Goin and recently Carlo Cracco. The airline is famous for it’s ‘Book the Cook’ service. With this service you can pre-book a gourmet main and premium selection of dishes up to 24 hours before departure.
Food is certainly plentiful on Singapore Airlines business class products. Three or four courses per meal is common, with trolleys full of fruit, cheeses and chocolates waving through the aisles inbetween. A vast selection of premium wines and champagnes are also available.
